Stop Torture campaign – good news
On 14th October 2016 the European parliament voted to close many of the loopholes in the EU laws prohibiting the trade in torture equpment. This includes banning both the advertising and brokering of torture equipment – two of the three loopholes Amnesty targeted through its campaign. Closing the loopholes was something Amnesty prioritised as part of the Stop Torture campaign.
